Sharing Is Learning

Non-competitive youth dance events have a very important role to play in the development of our youth dance community. While non-competitive dance has been largely represented in the primary school sector, there has been recent growth of secondary-aged non-competitive dance. 

Non-competitive dance allows allows students to build confidence and see what can be achieved and created in an environment void of judging criterion.

Festivals like YouDance,Vast Dance, and  the Tauranga Youth Dance Festival work to encourage dancers and choreographers to explore ideas that may not fit in a competitive setting. 

This article looks at the benefits and possibilities of non-competitive dance.
