IDENTITY Dance Crew To Compete At International Body Rock
In 2014 Identity Dance crew (IDCO) became silver medalists at the Hip Hop International Championships. This year they have been invited to compete at the International Body Rock Competition to be held in San Diego on 13 June.
Body Rock is one of the largest international Hip-Hop dance competitions held annually in San Diego. The competition attracts teams from all over the world, including teams from Japan, Germany, Italy and Korea.
In 2012 New Zealand's ReQuest Crew were crowned champions at the competition.
Participation by companies is by invitation only. This year six countries have teams that have been invited to perform in the programme. These include Australia, Canada, Japan, Korea, New Zealand and the United States.
IDCO leader, Josh Cesan, says that this is an amazing opportunity for the 26 dancers in the company that will be attending. "We will get to see performances by companies that are world renowned and have inspired us, and we'll get feedback from some of the giants in the industry."
The last few months has been a hectic time for the company with rehearsals and fundraising for the trip. But they all agree that the sacrifices will be worth it for this experience.
