The Dance Wellington Festival will kick off again this year on 5 - 23 November 2014 around various venues in Wellington including the Hannah Playhouse. Dance Wellington Festival will be presented in partnership with DANZ (Dance Aotearoa New Zealand) and Kōwhiti Productions.

Parris Goebel and The Royal Family will bring their latest show 'GOLD MYND' to Wellington to headline the Dance Wellington Festival programme. This show premiered in Auckland in July with two sold out shows and will be a wonderful opportunity for Wellington audiences to see this award winning crew in their first full length dance theatre show outside of the Auckland region. The show is being organised by DANZ as part of its 'Inspiring Wellington Youth' project and in addition to the performance, there will be community workshops, industry master-classes and a forum.

The 2014 Dance Wellington Festival will be focused on participation and community. Melissa Dodds, Producer, says, “At this stage we are still working to confirm the programme for 2014, but we are excited at the prospect of coming up with a diverse programme of dance events, workshops, and exhibitions. We are also hoping to include a programme of dance films and are working with Merenia Gray to present her film 'Aphrodite Hine Ahu One' into the Festival programme”.
