New Zealand Disability and Dance Strategy
In 2010, with funding from SPARC, DANZ worked with Bronwyn Hayward to produce the New Zealand Dance and Disability Strategy. This strategy was launched at Te Papa in December 2010 on the International Day of Disabled People.
The strategy sets out five key areas of focus as follows:
The expression of ourselves through dance and movement is what dance is all about - the expression of being and life. We all have a right to that expression - that is the heart and essence of the strategy.
