GASP! have been awarded grants from DCC Creative Communities and Otago Community Trust to create our first dance film! We have been busy researching the history of our film location, St Clair Beach, and creating choreography in response to our research. Next step is to film on location! Our film will be showing during the annual OUSA Diversity Week in September 2020 and will be incorporated into our End Of Year show.
GASP! Dance Collective was co-founded in 2014 by Miriam Marler and Hahna Briggs. Miriam and Hahna collaborated with local dancers to provide dance classes and unique performance to Dunedin. GASP! Dance Collective have performed at the Dunedin Fringe Festival, The Body Festival (Christchurch) and The Undercover Festival (Brisbane). Right now Gasp! Dance Collective are focusing their efforts on establishing inclusive dance in Dunedin. Inclusive dance is dance for all abilities, including people with and without disabilities.
