New Zealand Dance Week
27 April - 5 May 2019
CELEBRATE / ELEVATE / PARTICIPATE
New Zealand Dance Week (NZDW) is a national event which celebrates and strives to raise awareness of all forms of dance in Aotearoa. DANZ wants to work with you to create a platform for all New Zealanders to join in, celebrate and participate in a dance activity, as well as work to elevate the art form in all its diversity.
NZDW is an opportunity for the dance community to come together and help raise the visibility of dance. It exists to encourage people to become audiences, to participate in dance activity, promote and highlight the many benefits of dance, and most importantly, to just have fun!
HOW CAN YOU BE INVOLVED?
Whether you’re an old hand or new to the dance world, NZDW is for everyone!
There is a multitude of ways to get involved in NZDW, every action counts; no matter how big or small! From opening your studio doors to the public, putting on a performance or participating in a workshop, to simply using #nzdw2019 in your social media endeavours – it’s all important in showing your support!
Remember to check the DANCE EVENTS page to see what's happening in your area during this week.
MAKE DANCE VISIBLE – #NZDW19
Use the hashtag #NZDW19 when sharing your dance posts and images on social media and encourage your family, friends and fellow dancers to do the same!
We want the whole dance community (professional, educational, recreational) to get involved. You can do as much or as little as you are able to – the important thing is to do something. Whether you are a dancer or not a dancer, we encourage you to try something new, enjoy something old and just be part of NZDW. This is a chance to make dance visible in Aotearoa and is just one way of highlighting the value of dance in our society.
So, get moving – organise or get involved in an event and celebrate, elevate and participate in all things dance.
If you want more information or would like to be involved in NZDW you can contact us on email@example.com or phone 04 801 9885.
