DANZ - TEMPO KŌRERO TE KANIKANI / 6 OCTOBER 2-4PM
WORKING TOGETHER TO SUPPORT THE DANCE INDUSTRY

DANZ, New Zealand’s national organisation for the dance sector, and Tempo, New Zealand’s leading multi genre dance festival, share a vision of making dance more visible in Aotearoa. We have intersecting aims to support and provide opportunities for New Zealand dance artists and audiences, and to promote the ongoing development of diverse and high quality work.

Kōrero Te Kanikani is an informal discussion session being hosted by DANZ and Tempo to provide an opportunity for members of the dance industry to exchange views about current and future challenges, and to provide input on services and programmes that will help to support and advance the professional dance sector. This will take place on Saturday 6 October, 2-4pm at Q Theatre’s Vault in Auckland during Tempo Dance Festival 2018.

In preparation for Kōrero Te Kanikani we invite you to participate in a joint survey (link below) to gain a ‘snapshot’ of some topical issues within the dance industry.  The survey findings will be used to develop key themes to be discussed at this event. Live streaming of the discussion will be available on the DANZ Facebook page for those unable to make it to the venue or who live outside of Auckland.

The survey aims to gather some up-to-date input from artists, companies, organisations and others directly involved with the dance industry on ways in which DANZ and Tempo can further support dance artists and presenters. This will build on information gathered through past and ongoing outreach and engagement with the professional sector by both organisations. It will also serve as a prelude to further investigative work on industry needs.

We encourage you all to take a few minutes of your time to complete the survey and forward the link on to relevant contacts. The professional dance sector is diverse so it is important that our process of consultation and feedback invites contributions as far and wide as possible.

The survey closes 30 September and we look forward to receiving your input.
