Join us for a day of dance workshops and performances as we celebrate International Dance Day 2021.

Te Papa forecourt performances:
10.20 & 10.45 - Te Auaha Commercial dance students
12.30 - Moringa Dancers

11am - the official welcome on Level 2 of the Museum will be followed by 10 workshops, with something for all ages and abilities. We close the day with a community performance on Te Marae.

Workshops - Level Two foyer:
11.15 - 11.45: West African dance warm up with Robert Koffie Fugah
11.45 - 12.15: Hip Hop with Braedyn Humphries
12.15 – 12.45: Flamenco dance with Jessica Garland

12.45 - 1.00: Performance interlude – Desde Sevilla Flamenco Dance Company, Sri Lankan Dance Academy and Ollin Yoliztli

1.00- 1.45: Scottish ceilidh with Victoria University Folk Music Club
1.45 – 2.15: Swing dance with Sugarfoot Stomp
2.15 – 2.45: Cuban Salsa with CubanFusion

12.00 - 12.30: Folk dance with Liora Noy
12.30 - 1.00: Siva Sāmoa with Jayden Luapo
1.00 - 1.30: Jazz with Caitlin Fletcher
1.30 - 2.00: Madagascan dance with Lala Simpson

Performance - Te Marae
3.00 - 4.00 performance by 11 dance groups:
Caraka Seni, WI Dance, Moringa Dancers, Mudra Dance Company, Wellington Batucada, Salsa Magic, Tautua Dance, Lublin Dance Company, Pump Dance Studios, Mirian Caberlon Belly Dance School, Filifest Dance Group.
