Dance Aotearoa New Zealand (DANZ) and Victoria Medina present a Latin Fusion Choreography workshop, as part of the DANZ Social Media Takeover Season 2020.
Victoria is an emerging dancer and choreographer from Caracas, Venezuela. At the age of 16, Victoria moved to Aotearoa with her family and has since been a part of the Aotearoa dance community where she grew a new passion for Hip Hop and Choreography. Victoria is currently in her 3rd year of Dance Studies at The University of Auckland. Victoria has several years of training in New Zealand, learning multiple dance styles, teaching different age ranges, and travelling nationally and internationally.
Victoria is a current member of NZX Next (directed by the incredible Kiel Tutin) and Motus Dance Company (led by world-renowned artist Diana Matos). Victoria recently took part in the ‘Puma x Red Rat’ Mentorship programme with Aotearoa dance Veteran Bianca Ikinofo in 2019. Victoria’s creative work is heavily influenced from hispanic culture, fusing her expertise in Hip Hop and Choreography. As a woman who carries her family and her culture through her art form, Victoria hopes to inspire the new generation of dancers to explore, learn and embrace their cultural identity regardless where they stand.
